What is an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and how do they work?
Recruiters review resumes all day, every day. At Kickstart CV, I have literally lost count of how many CVs/resumes I have reviewed but would estimate the number would be somewhere in the thousands. I have submitted thousands of resumes to clients and have received detailed feedback on what hiring managers want to see (as well as what they don’t) which is what I aim to share.
Being a great writer doesn’t necessarily equate to being able to write a great CV/resume. Advertising yourself in the best possible light requires a careful combination of describing what you do, how you do it, and what makes you better than (or different from) the next person. This is what an employment coach's job entails and it is this unique perspective that allows me to craft professionally written resumes that are effective.

Typical turnaround time is three to five working days depending on my workload along with your availability. I take pride in our partnership model along with my high standards of quality. Generally, I can turnaround documents more quickly based on the availability of my clients to schedule the consultation, their response time to additional questions or filling out pertinent questionnaires, and the quality of the documents that are originally provided (if applicable).
Of course, these documents are completely yours to do what you please. Word (.doc) documents can be provided for all services (with the exception if your LinkedIn profile is being created or edited directly). I recommend updating your resume and LinkedIn every six months or after a job change/promotion.
I will try to do my best at expediting to exceed my client’s expectations. That said, I take orders on a first come, first serve basis. If you urgently need a document ASAP, I will try to accommodate, but I will not sacrifice quality nor postpone another client’s delivery timeline.
An applicant tracking system is a piece of software that 98% of job boards and individual companies now use to filter out unsuitable applications, saving the recruiter time reviewing unsuitable applications.
The ATS is setup by the recruiter when they post their job advert on a job board (Seek, Indeed, etc.) or their own website. The recruiter submits the key requirements for the job, such as specific skills, education, experience, qualifications, etc. The ATS then uses CV/Resume parsing software to 'read' your CV and makes a decision as to whether you qualify to have your CV shown to the recruiter - or not.
A frightening statistic is that 3/4 CVs/Resumes are never actually seen by the recruiter and are automatically rejected by ATS software. The average ATS score against targeted positions is an astonishing low 34%, with only 1/17 CVs scoring above 90% for the candidates targeted positions (usually written by a professional CV/Resume writing service).

If you are looking for a fast, budget service, a CV mill or low cost resume service may be an option for you. However, the likelihood is you're probably best saving your money and writing it yourself using the free advices online. These operators typically outsource to non-native English speaking countries where labour is cheap and quality is poor. They don't include consultation calls, and limit revisions, producing templated, rushed CVs/Resumes, often littered with mistakes and not an accurate reflection of their clients skills, experience and achievements.
